On Tuesday, 17 September 2024, following the signing ceremony that took place last month, the Autoridade Nacional dos Minerais, I.P. (ANM,I.P.) and Human Resource Development Center for Geology, Minerals, and Coal (PPSDM GEOMINERBA) have officially launched the Human Capacity Development Program on Geological and Mining aimed at enhancing ANM's capacity in geology and mineral-related areas. This partnership represents a key step in the strategic development of the mineral sector, with a focus on expanding expertise and building a skilled workforce.

Today, the opening ceremony was held to mark the beginning of the program, which will provide specialized training to professionals from ANM. The training program features four key modules:

1. Metallic Mineral Exploration Technique

2. JORC - Resource and Reserve Calculation

3. Royalty Calculation in Accordance with the Mining Code Fiscal Regime

4. Health and Safety in Mining

These programs will collectively strengthen the capabilities of ANM employees and enhance their knowledge in international mining standards and best practices. A total of 49 employees will participate in the training, which will take place in stages from now until October 2024.

This initiative reinforces the commitment of both ANM and PPSDM GEOMINERBA to regional cooperation and capacity building, with the ultimate goal of improving the management and sustainability of Timor-Leste’s mineral resources.
