On Friday, 10th January 2025, the Autoridade Nacional dos Minerais, I.P. (ANM) marked a series of events, including the blessing of its new office, the launch of its official website, the announcement of its ISO 9001 Certification, and the introduction of a Scholarship Program for the Beduku community, Handover the Exploration and Evaluation Licenses, as well as Environmental Licenses and Mineral Permits.
The day began with a Thanksgiving Mass at Cannosa Chapel and continuing with blessing ceremony to formally inaugurate the ANM’s offices. The celebration was presided over by Pe. Gil dos Santos Florentino,SDB and was attended by distinguished guests and institutional leaders’ tutelage the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.
A highlight of the event was the official launch of ANM’s new website by H.E. Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Mr. Francisco da Costa Monteiro and the Vice Ambassador of Australia to Timor-Leste, Mr. Edward Wilkinson. The website offers a wealth of information, including forms and templates for Mining and Environmental License applications, as well as updated data on Timor-Leste's Metallic and non-metallic Mining Blocks.
Following the website launch, ANM proudly announced the receipt of ISO 9001 Certification for its Quality Management System (QMS) from the British Standards Institution, a significant achievement for the institution.
As part of its commitment to supporting education and community development, the ANM has launched a Scholarship Program aimed at the Be-Duku area. The announcement was made during the event.
The scholarship program is designed to provide educational opportunities for students from the following communities:
1. Aldeia Turleu, Suco Tibar, Posto Administrativo Bazartete, Municipality of Liquiça
2. Aldeia Mundo Perdido, Suco Manleuana, Posto Administrativo Dom Aleixo, Municipality of Dili
3. Aldeia Fatunia and Aldeia Turleu, Suco Tibar, Posto Administrativo Bazartete, Municipality of Liquiça
4. Aldeia Casnafar, Suco Dare, Posto Administrativo Vera Cruz, Municipality of Dili
5. Aldeia Laulora, Suco Manleuana, Posto Administrativo Dom Aleixo, Municipality of Dili.

The scholarship program aims to provide the Be-Duku community with greater access to education and professional opportunities, supporting the next generation of leaders and skilled professionals. The day concluded with the handover of Exploration and Evaluation Licenses, as well as Environmental Licenses and Mineral Permits. The licenses were presented to Worldview Enterprise Unipessoal, Lda. (EEL) and Caballus Resources, Lda., as well as Environmental Licenses and Mineral Permits to Sinar Satellite & Construction Unipessoal, Lda. and Taishengts, Lda.
These events highlight ANM's continued commitment to advancing the mining sector, promoting sustainable development, and supporting local communities through various initiatives.
