Dili, Timor-Leste – 10 April 2025 – The Government of Timor-Leste, through the Autoridade Nacional dos Minerais (ANM, and the Government of Australia, through the Department of Industry, Science and Resources (DISR), have formally signed an agreement to strengthen cooperation in the minerals and mining sector.

The signing ceremony, held at the City 8 Building in Manleuna, Dili, marks the formal establishment of the Timor-Leste – Australia Minerals and Mining Collaboration, a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening institutional ties and fostering sustainable development in the sector.

Key areas of focus under the collaboration include facilitate knowledge exchange, capacity development and capability and promotion of trade and investment contribute to economic growth in both countries.

This initiative reflects the shared commitment of Timor-Leste and Australia to advance sustainable resource development, build long-term partnerships, and enhance mutual economic opportunities within the region.
