ANM and other representatives from various line-ministries, and key institutions—including the Tax Authority (Ministry of Finance), TradeInvest Timor-Leste, I.P. (Ministry Coordinator of Economic Affairs), the National Directorate of Forest Protection and Guarda (Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries), and the Lands and Properties Commission (Ministry of Justice)—actively participated in a Workshop on Stakeholder Engagement (SE-2). This workshop focused on the Development Vision for ASEAN Minerals (AMDV) and the ASEAN Minerals Cooperation Plan of Action (AMCAP-IV) and was held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from February 20 to 21, 2025.
The two-day workshop provided an invaluable platform for stakeholders from all ASEAN member countries to collaboratively discuss the draft AMDV, which aims to establish a strategic vision for the next twenty years, as well as AMCAP-IV, which sets the direction for the period from 2026 to 2030. Timor-Leste’s involvement as an observer country allowed for meaningful engagement in discussions surrounding the development of AMDV and AMCAP-IV.
Timor-Leste's participation as observer serves as an indicator of the country’s commitment to fostering closer ties with other ASEAN Member States and demonstrates proactive steps towards its anticipated accession to become the full 11th member of ASEAN within 2025.
