Representatives from the National Minerals Authority (ANM) recently attended a Workshop on Stakeholder Engagement (SE-1) focused on the ASEAN Mineral Development Vision (AMDV) and the ASEAN Mineral Cooperation Action Plan (AMCAP-IV), which was held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from 6 – 8 November 2024.

The three-day event gathered key stakeholders from all ASEAN Member States to discuss the draft AMDV, which outlines the vision for the next twenty years, alongside the AMCAP-IV, which will direct mineral activities from 2026 to 2030. Timor-Leste notably presented its proposal of stakeholders from both governmental and non-governmental organizations, who will be taking part in the upcoming Stakeholders Engagement Meeting (SE-2 & SE-3), which tentatively scheduled for January and April 2025.

Timor-Leste's participation as an observer underscores its commitment to enhancing its relationship with other ASEAN Member States and preparing for its full accession to ASEAN in 2025.
