On Monday, 22 January 2024. Autoridade Nacional dos Minerais (ANM) handed over the Environment Licenses for Category B Project to two companies that engage in Mining Activities. The companies have complied with the requirements for environmental licencing procedure set forth under Decree Law no.39/2022, 8th June, on Environmental Licensing Law. The companies are Caiulu Unipessoal, Lda that will carry out Mining Activities in Laclo River, Aldeia Laclolema, Suco Dato, Posto Administrativo Liquica, Municipio Liquica and King Construction, Lda will be at Ai-Asa River, Aldeia Lotin, Suco Daisua, Posto Administrativo Same, Municipio Manufahi.
The Companies underlined their commitments to conduct Mining Activities in accordance with approved Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and in compliance with environmental legislation in Timor-Leste.
