On August 13th 2024, – A significant milestone was reached with the signing of a Cooperation Agreement between the Human Resource Development Center for Geology, Minerals, and Coal and The Autoridade Nacional dos Minerais, I.P. The agreement aims to enhance the capacity development of The ANM in key areas related to geology and Mineral.
The Autoridade Nacional dos Minerais, I.P., established as a public institution in Timor-Leste on 6 September 2023, is responsible for managing and regulating the mineral sector in the Timor-Leste region. As a key institution, ANM relies on skilled human resources to carry out its duties and functions effectively. However, the successful management of the mineral sector not only depends on the application of sophisticated technology and mechanisms but also on the continuous development of human resource skills.
The partnership will focus on capacity-building initiatives, knowledge exchange, and technical training programs designed to strengthen ANM’s institutional capabilities. This collaboration is expected to further solidify the development of the minerals and mining sector through improved governance, sustainable practices, and advanced technical skills.
This agreement represents a shared commitment to advancing resource management and enhancing the competencies of ANM's personnel. Both parties look forward to the successful implementation of the agreement and the positive impact it will have on the sector's development.
