Cultural Ceremony Marks Start of TIVAN Limited’s Mineral Exploration in Turiscai, Manufahi Municipality

On June 26, 2025, TIVAN Limited conducted a traditional cultural ceremony at the Administrative Post of Turiscai, in Manufahi Municipality, to mark the commencement of its mineral evaluation and exploration activities in the area.

This ceremony is part of the company’s obligation to seek spiritual and cultural permission from nature and ancestral spirits before initiating mining-related activities. It marks the beginning of operational preparations in the area granted under an Evaluation and Exploration License issued by H.E. Prime Minister Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão on March 15, 2025.

The Evaluation and Exploration phase involves identifying the quality and quantity of mineral resources in the designated concession area. As the licensed entity, TIVAN Limited will undertake a comprehensive study to assess the mineral potential in the region.

The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries and community representatives, including the Presidents of the Municipal Authorities of Manufahi and Ainaro, representatives from the Manatuto Municipality, Lia Nain (traditional custodians), local community leaders, the State-Owned Company Murak Rai Timor, Autoridade Nacional dos Minerais (ANM), Veterans, PNTL representatives, and community members from the Turiscai area.

This ceremony underscores TIVAN’s commitment to respecting and integrating local cultural values within its operational framework. As part of its Exploration and Evaluation Activities, the company recognizes the importance of maintaining cultural harmony while conducting Mining Activities in the granted areas.
