Recently, the representatives of Autoridade Nacional dos Minerais, together with Instituto Geociências de Timor-Leste (IGTL) participated in The ASEAN The 12th Joint Working Groups Meeting of the ASEAN Minerals Cooperation (JWG) and its Associated Meetings in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The three-day event, which ran from 13th to 15th August 2024, brought together key stakeholders from across the ASEAN region to discuss and collaborate on various aspects of mineral cooperation.
Timor-Leste's participation in the event as an observer is a clear indication of the nation's dedication to advancing its relations with ASEAN. This involvement underscores Timor-Leste's ongoing commitment to becoming a full member of ASEAN by 2025, reflecting the country’s strategic interest in regional cooperation and integration.
