On Tuesday, 30 July 2024 – The Government of Timor-Leste successfully held the Timor-Leste’s Business Forum on Investment and Opportunities in Beijing, China. The forum was officially launched by the President of Timor-Leste, H.E. Mr. José Ramos Horta and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Timo-Leste, H.E. Mr. Françisco Kalbuadi Lay.

The forum marking a significant step in enhancing bilateral relations and exploring investment opportunities between Timor-Leste and China.

The Autoridade Nacional dos Minerais (ANM) provided an updated presentation on Timor-Leste’s mining development prospects and investment opportunities, highlighting significant potential for growth and collaboration within the mineral sector.

The forum provided a dynamic platform for dialogue between Timor-Leste and potential investors, including representatives from the Government of the Republic of China, Ambassador of Australia to the People's Republic of China and other diplomatic corps. The forum also was attended by diverse group of international investors and Chinese Chambers of Commerce. These discussions underscored Timor-Leste’s potential as an emerging market and highlighted opportunities for collaboration across various sectors.
