The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Timor-Leste, represented by key public institutions including Instituto de Geociências de Timor-Leste (IGTL), Autoridade Nacional dos Minerais (ANM), and Murak Rai Timor, E.P., successfully participated in the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) held from October 29-31 at the ICC Sydney.
As part of Timor-Leste’s engagement at IMARC, the delegation hosted an exclusive Business Forum focusing on Timor-Leste’s investment opportunities in the mining sector. The session featured an opening address by H.E. Ambassador of Timor-Leste to Australia, Mrs. Inês Maria de Almeida followed by insightful presentations from President of ANM, Mr. Rafael de Araujo, President of IGTL, Mr. Job Brites do Santos and Owned State Company MRT, E.P, Mr. José Gonçalves. A keynote speech by His Excellency, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Timor-Leste, Mr. Francisco da Costa Monteiro, emphasized the country’s mineral resources and the substantial opportunities for international investment in this burgeoning sector.
Throughout the three-day event, the Timor-Leste Exhibition stand attracted a high volume of visitors, including representatives from leading mining companies and government institutions, all eager to explore the potential of Timor-Leste’s mineral resources.
This event marks a significant step in Timor-Leste’s efforts to showcase its resources and attract sustainable investments that align with the country's goals for economic development and resource management.
