The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MPRM) and the Autoridade Nacional dos Minerais (ANM) of Timor-Leste are proud to participate in the Tenth ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Minerals (10th AMMin) and the Twenty-Fifth ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Minerals (25th ASOMM) and ASEAN Minerals Investment Forum (AMVest) held from 29 September to 3 October 2025 in Vientiane, Lao PDR.
This year’s meetings held special significance as ASEAN Minister for mine warmly welcomed Timor-Leste, which is set to become the 11th Member State of ASEAN this October.
Representing Timor-Leste, H.E. Francisco da Costa Monteiro, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, delivered remarks highlighting the country’s commitment to actively engage and cooperate with ASEAN Member States. Minister emphasizes Timor-Leste’s readiness to work closely with partners within ASEAN members to fostering sustainable growth, resource management, and regional collaboration in the mineral sector.
“Timor-Leste stands ready to contribute to ASEAN’s shared vision of sustainable mineral development. We look forward to collaborating with our ASEAN family to advance cooperation, innovation, and responsible resource management in the region,” Minister Monteiro stated.
With this milestone, Timor-Leste reaffirms its commitment to regional integration, sustainable mineral development, and collective prosperity as it formally takes its place within the ASEAN community.
